Ladies Golf

There is a strong and very active Ladies section at Girton with approaching 100 members. On both Tuesdays and Thursdays there are two times when you can roll up and get a game with other ladies and there is a list of members in the locker room happy to mark cards and play with new members.
Medal, Stableford and Eclectic competitions take place mid-week and at weekends throughout the year and 9 hole qualifiers, aimed primarily at higher handicappers, can be played.
There are many competitions to involve all level of players: these include pairs, teams and mixed competitions and many fun competitions such as the ‘Turkey Trot’ and our newly introduced (2016) competition,
‘The Bramble’. The 14 major competitions are held mainly at weekends,
Girton Ladies play a number of ‘Friendly’ matches against local clubs and all players including high handicappers are welcomed and encouraged to take part in these. On a more serious note we also enter teams into the Grace Norman, Jean Wilkinson and Daily Mail foursomes to name but a few.

A Message from the Ladies Captain

I am proud and honoured to be the Lady Captain for Girton Golf Club.
I have had connections with Girton Golf Club since the mid- seventies.
Over the last few years the course has improved greatly and is continuing to do so, due to the dedication and hard work of the green staff.
I am looking forward to representing the club and to encourage not only our members to join in more events but promote our clubs friendly atmosphere.
Finally, I would like to wish all our members, guest and visitors a happy and healthy year of golf.

Best wishes

Pat Atkin
